Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Dorchester and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We cover Dorchester (DT1) and the surrounding DT2 villages including Charminster, Poundbury, Puddletown, Broadmayne, Martinstown and Crossways.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. There is no call-out fee, and evenings, weekends and bank holidays cost the same as a weekday. Tell us what is happening when you call and we will explain what the visit involves and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Are you available outside normal hours?
Yes. Drainage does not fail conveniently, so we take emergency calls 24/7 including evenings and weekends.
Is the blocked drain my responsibility or the water company’s?
It depends on whether the run serves only your property or is shared with others. Shared runs and public sewers are usually the water company’s responsibility. If that is what we find, we will tell you before you pay for work you did not need to fund.
My drain keeps blocking in the same place — why?
Repeat blockages in one spot almost always mean an underlying defect: a crack, a displaced joint, root ingress or a section with an inadequate fall. Clearing it treats the symptom. A CCTV survey identifies the cause so it can be repaired properly.
Can a damaged drain be repaired without digging up my garden?
Often, yes. Where the pipe still holds its shape, a liner can be installed through the existing run and cured in place, leaving the surface above undisturbed. A collapsed section still needs excavating, and we will tell you honestly which applies.
