Common drainage problems

Blocked drains in Dorchester – why it should not wait

A blocked drain is rarely just an inconvenience. Left alone it tends to get worse, and it tends to get worse at the worst possible time.

Health risk

Standing waste water and sewage backing up carry bacteria and produce smells that get into the house. It is not something to live with.

Property damage

Water that cannot get away finds somewhere else to go — under floors, into walls and against foundations.

Rising cost

A blockage that is cleared early is a small job. One that has been left, or has caused a pipe to fail, is not.

Disruption

No usable toilet, sink or shower stops a household or a business in its tracks until it is sorted.

How it works

From blocked to cleared in four steps

No mystery about what happens when you call.

  1. 1

    Tell us what’s happening

Call and describe what you’re seeing — a slow sink, a gurgle, a smell or standing water. It usually tells us a lot before we arrive.

  2. 2

    We find the cause

We clear enough to get flow back, then work out why it blocked — because a drain that blocks twice has a reason.

  3. 3

    A price before the work

If it needs more than a clear — a repair, a lining, a survey — you get the price and the reason before we start it.

  4. 4

    You see the evidence

Where we survey, you get the footage. Where we repair, you see the before and after.

Why choose us

The trusted way to get a drain sorted

Six things you can hold us to.

24/7 emergency response

Drains do not fail at a convenient hour. We take emergency calls around the clock, including weekends.

We find the cause

Where a drain keeps blocking, a camera survey shows what is actually down there instead of guessing at it.

Priced before we start

You hear what the work involves and what it costs before it begins. Nothing gets done that you have not agreed to.

Repairs without digging

Many damaged runs can be lined through the existing pipe, so the drive or garden above stays where it is.

You keep the evidence

Where we survey, the footage is yours. Where we repair, you see the before and after.

Domestic and commercial

Households, landlords, kitchens, offices and sites — with out-of-hours work scheduled around trading.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Dorchester and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We cover Dorchester (DT1) and the surrounding DT2 villages including Charminster, Poundbury, Puddletown, Broadmayne, Martinstown and Crossways.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. There is no call-out fee, and evenings, weekends and bank holidays cost the same as a weekday. Tell us what is happening when you call and we will explain what the visit involves and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Are you available outside normal hours?
Yes. Drainage does not fail conveniently, so we take emergency calls 24/7 including evenings and weekends.
Is the blocked drain my responsibility or the water company’s?
It depends on whether the run serves only your property or is shared with others. Shared runs and public sewers are usually the water company’s responsibility. If that is what we find, we will tell you before you pay for work you did not need to fund.
My drain keeps blocking in the same place — why?
Repeat blockages in one spot almost always mean an underlying defect: a crack, a displaced joint, root ingress or a section with an inadequate fall. Clearing it treats the symptom. A CCTV survey identifies the cause so it can be repaired properly.
Can a damaged drain be repaired without digging up my garden?
Often, yes. Where the pipe still holds its shape, a liner can be installed through the existing run and cured in place, leaving the surface above undisturbed. A collapsed section still needs excavating, and we will tell you honestly which applies.
